At St Faith and St Martin Church of England Junior School, we believe in the importance of promoting the core Christian values that help to make our school distinctive and which underpin our ethos.
We explore these values through collective worship, within our lessons and in the everyday life of the school. The values that we hold to be important are: perseverance, patience, responsibility, creativity, honesty and hope.
At St Faith and St Martin Junior School we believe our Christian Values should underpin everything we do, both during and beyond the school day. We strongly recognise the importance of living through our Christian Values and walking in the light of Christ.
Our school mission statement, “We are a team that achieve amazing things every day,” provides a framework whereby we put children at the centre of all that we do. It has at its heart our Christian focus and our desire to see children grow and develop as part of a loving school community:
TEAM – We aim for our children, staff, parents and carers, families, governors, the Church and friends of St Faith and St Martin Junior School to work together in the interests of each individual child and to strengthen the school in and for the local, national and global community.
ACHIEVE – We aim to provide our children with a safe environment and an experience during their time with us that will enable each of them to develop morally, spiritually, intellectually, creatively, physically, emotionally and socially. We value every child as a unique individual and encourage them to believe in themselves and develop their interests and talents. Each child recognises the distinctiveness of our Christian values through their understanding of the bible, a comprehensive Religious Education curriculum, gaining knowledge of Christians throughout history, experiencing corporate Collective Worship, and having opportunities for prayer and reflection.
AMAZING– We aim for all of our children to reach their full potential through helping them develop their skills, knowledge and understanding to become effective global citizens of the ever changing world we live in.
EVERY DAY – We aim to use the distinctive Christian values that the School is founded on to encourage a culture in which each individual is included, secure, valued and nurtured and where our children learn to show these values to others.
